Focus Project Management leads, manages and controls delivery/implementation of all Neighbourhood development and Partnership Grant (NDPG) projects at the City of Tshwane.
The company has been appointed to provide a centralised overarching programme management service across all professional and technical disciplines needed for the City of Tshwane's R700 million NDPG programme. Our duties are listed, but not limited to the following:
| • | Providing input into the budgeting process of Council, related to strategic city projects, on behalf of the Planning Unit, |
| • | Liaising closely with the Programme Director and National Treasury to estimate and determine the capital and operating requirements of the City of Tshwane, National Treasury and other funders related to the NDPG projects. |
| • | Representing the NDPG programme on Council Committees and other political structures and other forums/teams in determining the capital and operating budget related to such projects. |
| • | Accessing of approved funding for utilisation in projects through Council procedures. |
| • | Manages capital and operating budgets for specifi c strategic projects |
| • | Being actively involved in the management of capital and operating budgets of projects undertaken by the Planning Unit, in line with stipulations of the NDPG project business plans |
| • | Monitoring and controlling expenditure related to specifi c projects within the NDPG programme and in line with council systems and procedures; |
| • | Reporting to the stakeholders of problems and project risks as they occur. |
| • | Liaises and consults with stakeholders and communities that are impacted on by projects |
| • | Develops in conjunction with the City of Tshwane and National Treasury the systems of project monitoring and evaluation together with necessary IT support |
| • | Developing project reporting templates. |
| • | Established a system of project reporting. |
| • | Make representations on behalf of the project to Council; external bodies and as required by the Unit, Maintains intelligence on national, provincial and municipal legislation, regulation and by-laws as well as best practice and trends related to the NDPG programme, and advises the City of Tshwane on the impact of and appropriate responses. |

Focus Project Management has been appointed to provide a centralised overarching project management service across all professional and technical disciplines needed for a Greenfi elds development in Umkomaas.
FPM is the overall programme manager of a multi-disciplinary team that has prepared a comprehensive Development Framework for the developers. Focus Project Management in-house specialists also include Town Planners and Development Economists. The land earmarked for development lies between Umkomaas and Scottburgh on the KZN South Coast; within the eThekwini Municipality boundary and close to the Ugu District in the South.
